RUINS OF THE PRESENT

These photos explore the concept of ruination as an ongoing process and challenge the
traditional, romanticized notion of ruins as remnants of a distant past. Instead, they present modern ruins as dynamic, evolving spaces that reflect the transient nature of human endeavors.
Rather than depicting these sites as "former places" the series captures them as transitional spaces or ruins-in-progress—locations existing in a state of liminality. These are environments caught between their original purpose and inevitable decline, where people still hold on and attempt to exist within or around them, even as they crumble. It is an invitation to observe the tension between habitation and decay and the deep connection between industrial activities and the accelerated ruination of our present-day environments.
